“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace,
forbearance (patience) kindness, goodness,
faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.
Against such things there is no law.”
To be “faithful” is to be reliable and trustworthy. For the Christian; there is a calling to be faithful to our Saviour who has graciously redeemed us and is forever faithful towards us. Christian faithfulness requires us to give up our selfish desires in order to follow God’s guidance and yield to His will and His ways. We can be thankful that we are not left alone to try and do this on our own; the Holy Spirit is committed to helping us recognize all that is good for us and all that is good for us to do. God is faithful to help us become more and more faithful in all that we say and do. ‘Faithful’ also describes someone who is willing to suffer for the sake of Jesus who suffered and was killed for our sakes. Let’s be ready today to be faithful to God even if it means others may ridicule or look down upon us.
