Why have a memory club?
The Memory club was established in October 2013 by the Church of St peter and St Paul, in response to the findings of a local survey of Olney. These findings highlighted a hole in local provision for those struggling with memory.
What is memory club?
The memory club is a group of people who meet for an hour and a half. During which time we hold gentle activities, which seek to encourage memory recall.
Who is it for?
The memory club is for those who are in the early stages of memory loss. The activities provided are there to help support and encourage.
Where does it meet?
We meet in the Church Hall, High Street South, Olney, MK46 4AA
When does it meet?
We meet on the 1st Friday of each month
What happens at Memory Club?
During each session, we meeting and share tea/coffee and biscuits. We then have varied activities. To date these have included sharing old favourite books and the times/memories around them, looking at items from our recent and distant past, decorating cakes at Christmas whilst recalling our memories of the Christmas past. Other activities include memory stretching – such as word circles, sudoku and word search.
